Two Thousand and Seven.

We are 14 days into 2007, so I happen to be fashionable late to this party. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and a fine New Year! This is a brief run down of what I have planned for 2007. It is by no means a small list, but I hope when I look back at this in January 2008 I will be able to say that I accomplished at least a few of these long term goals.

More Creativity

Of late it seems my creativity has gone into hibernation, I am doing a lot more coding at work and my spare time is spent doing other things. This has got to change, I am still an artist at heart, and Carrie got me an awesome Wacom graphics tablet which I am eager to get started with. I’ve also got a handful of Moleskines knocking about which need some scribbles in.

More Events

This year I am going to make sure I get to at least one web event. I think it is about time I get out into the real world to meet like minded individuals who are as passionate about the web as I am and hopefully forge some good friendships. It would also be great if I could meet some of my web design hero’s along the way! It is my top priority to go to @media 2007 and I am also considering going to The Future of Web Design and d.construct. I hope to see you all there!

More Freelance

I did not get nearly as much freelance done as I would of liked with many projects falling through. If you have a project you would like me to get involved with please fire me an email. My main strength is semantic HTML and CSS development and site design. I also have a solid understanding of PHP and experience working with WordPress.

More Personal Projects

Last year, I had so many ideas that just never made it out of my head and on to the web. This year, I am going to do my best to get some of these things out, I already have a project fleshed out which I will start working on later this month. Stay tuned for more information.

More Blogging

Finally, last but by no means least, this blog will get some real attention this year. I am intending to stick to my goal of one post every fortnight, starting with this one of course! I have already scheduled them into iCal (using a repeat event) so I can keep on top of this. Bonus posts will crop up in between these scheduled posts as and when I want to write! Version 4 of the blog as well as a full portfolio site will be released on the first of May just as version 3 was in 2006.

That’s a lot of resolutions/commitments for 2007. I do hope to read more of your future entries though I don’t know you personally.

Your layout is stunningly gorgeous, creative beyond my comprehension. The aestheticism is what brought my attention to your site. I only wish you had an “about page” though.

Sounds like a lot of work ;) Good luck. I don’t think I’ll be making it across to @media this year, but you never know.

It is indeed a lot of stuff, but a year is pretty long! Thanks for the kind words Sue, though this layout feels really tired and boring to me now, hopefully the new one with be a massive improvement.

Matt, maybe I will catch you at @media 2008? I might even make it over to America for SXSWi, who knows?

I just wanted to mention that I have always been a fan of your blog design. The graphics are awesome and at the same time they don’t interfere with the content. I dig it :)
