My Dream App

As most of you may well know, I joined the “I have a Mac” club a little while ago, you will also probably know that I am enjoying my Mac immensely! One new thing I have noticed is that I get rather excited about finding and trying out new applications. Even the little simple ones like WriteRoom and Awaken.

So imagine my joy when I discovered My Dream App, a talent contest for Mac applications. There were so many great ideas submitted and the final 24 which have made it into the first public vote are all brilliant ideas. Trouble is I want ALL of these app’s to be made, but I doubt that will ever happen, so i’m hoping at least one of my favourites will make it into the top 3 and be made into a fully blown OS X app.

iGTD - Ah, Getting Things Done, sounds pretty useful if you ask me, in-fact I’m sure I could really do with getting some more stuff done. I am intending to pick up the book by David Allen and actually learn how to do it right, but a perfectly formed GTD Mac application would be brilliant. I think Merlin Mann would agree, we need this app.

Portal - Sometime in the future, I will purchase a mighty fine Apple laptop of some kind, and I will use it when I am travelling/at Carrie’s/lying in bed but there will be a point when I want to get all my files back onto my desktop computer so I can work in the Luxury of my 20 inch screen. This is where Portal will come in, and make the thought of synching files just that much sweeter. Offering a similar style interface to the recently announced Time Machine this application will be a must have for any power user who runs more than one computer.

Desktop Wars - Once I have finished getting things done and have synched up all my files there is nothing I want more than to recline in my office chair and watch as a tiny army pick up the files and folders strewn across my desktop and use them to battle against somebody else’s desktop army. Let’s be honest who wouldn’t want to do that?
