Another Life Update
It’s been over a month since a last posted, that’s a pretty long time so for that I apologise. I’ve been working on a couple of tutorial posts, but I am yet to round them off ready for posting.
Yesterday I got hit by a Van on the way to work as I crossed over a pelican crossing. It was just a glancing hit, and I managed to escape with a couple of bruises and a broken foot, so I was pretty lucky.
I pressed the button at the crossing, the traffic on my left came to a halt as the green man flashed, telling me it was safe to cross, I stepped into the road and was hit by a white van, he had run the red light. I landed on the pavement, and was able to watch as the bastard drove off, a complete disregard for how I was. Any feeling of pain turned to anger, i shan’t repeat what I shouted at him, I am still in a bit of disbelief has to how someone could do such a thing. I guess he didn’t have much to lose, I was far too dazed to get a license plate number.
So, now my left foot is in plaster, and I’m struggling about on crutches. It’s getting a bit annoying, but Carrie has been looking after me for 2 days now which has been rad, I’m going to go back to work tomorrow, I’ve got loads to do.
My Birthday was on Friday (the 18th don’t you know!) Didn’t do anything, which was good, I didn’t really want a fuss. Carrie bought me the Logitech S530 cordless desktop for Mac, I was worried about ruining the “purity” of the Mac experience but I am really happy with this set up, and the mouse is so much faster than the mighty mouse I had been using, much closer to the feel of the wonderful G5.
I read this article on having the perfect shave a while back, i bought myself all the stuff it recommends and heard my first traditional wet shave on Sunday evening. Although not the speediest of shaves, as I took my time to not cut myself, the safety razor is going to take a bit of getting used to but I must say it was one of the closest and most enjoyable shaves I have ever had.
The Ricky Gervais Show season three started on the 22nd, it’s most suited to the hardcore Ricky Gervais fan (like myself) but it’s a great little half hour. I’m also liking the Russell Brand pod-cast at the moment, it’s quite off the wall but has some great laugh out loud moments.
I’ll hopefully get one of those tutorials out soon, I’ve been writing it for blooming ages now, and I need to get my head down and finish them up, I’ll try and get one done and posted up this weekend, but of course, that’s what i said last weekend.

WooT for the logitech setup it looks purdy!!
I cannot believe the white van man just kept driving ( his Karma will attack him one day for sure ! ) - Ready for the joke? - sounds like you were hopping mad that he drove off ( boom boom !) , but hey, at least you got plastered for your birthday ( boom flipping boom !) - ok, enough jokes.
I feel guilty that you didnt want me to buy you anything at all for your birthday, but you got what you wanted from me - nowt :(
Hey ho, was good reading the blog article as it has been a while and yours is one I enjoy reading.
Your mac setup is looking shexy, but you wait till late oct when you see me unleash my Mac Pro setup ‘O.O’
Peace!

Getting hit by fast moving objects, especially bulky ones with wheels really sucks. =\
Furthermore, having broken bones and whatnot else sucks just as much if not more. I’ve gone through three broken arms. I can’t imagine how much it would hurt and restrict you to cope with a broken foot.
And a belated happy birthday mixed with a congrats for the beautiful work you put into this site. How old are you now?
Cheers and best wishes.

@Pascal - I’ve now made it to the grand old age of 19! Hopefully it will be my first and last run in with any type of fast moving objects.
I broke my arm back in the olden days as well, but breaking a foot really is restrictive, thankfully family and friends are being really supportive (although not as literally supportive as the crutches!)
Cheers for the birthday wishes and compliment on the blog!

Ah, good to hear. =]
I would imagine though the breaking of a back means no movement - such as walking about - whatsoever, but I that’s a guess. Either way, breaking anything really hurts and sucks.
I turned 17 four days before you turned 19. One more year and I’m of ‘full-age’.
Cheers.

I broke a toe once and that was bad enough ;) Can’t imagine breaking my entire foot. Feel better. Happy birthday!
