Who on Earth?
My name is Andy Pearson, I am a 20 year old web designer and developer from Buckinghamshire in the UK.
My life consists of just doing what I love. Listening to good music, going to gigs, playing PC and DS games, blogging, designing cool websites, watching TV, occasionally Streetboarding, hanging out with all my friends and family and spending quality time with Carrie.
I love listening to music, and listen to a wide variety of stuff. The easiest way to see what I am into is to check out my last.fm profile. It’s always hard to name a favourite band, but I would say mine might be Blink 182, because their music is tied to a lot of good memories and they where the first band I ever saw live.
Gaming has always been a big part of my life. I currently own a PC (which needs upgrading ready for DX10) and a Nintendo DS. I mostly play First Person Shooters, and had some good times during my solid addiction to Counter-Strike, though I do have fun with most genres. The last games I really enjoyed where Dawn of War: Dark Crusade (PC) and New Super Mario Bros (DS).
My friends and family mean a lot to me. I need to thank them for being there for me, and giving me a safe base to launch my crazy ideas from. I know I will always be able to rely on them to be there, to hang out with, to joke around with and just to have a rad time with.
Carrie has been a huge part of my life for almost two years. I have had an amazing time with her and no doubt it will continue that way into the future. We have had some awesome times together, ones I will never forget.
What’s He Up To?
I work full time at a small (but perfectly formed) web shop called Binamic. We build web sites of all shapes and sizes and have a fun time doing it. In my spare time I blog here about pretty much anything as well as blogging about Warhammer 40,000 over at Scorched Archive. I also do some freelance work so, if you have a project you would like me to help out with please drop me a line via the contact page.
About the Site
History
Version One of the site was a custom PHP blog, built mainly for my amusement. After varying success with the development of that I switched to WordPress and launched Version Two of the site in October 2005, I have been running on WordPress ever since. Version Three was where the fun really started, design and development was completed ready for the CSS Reboot, and I put it live on May 1st as planned. I received 15,000 hits that month, and got some great feedback. Since then I have been continuing to blog, trying to share my knowledge and just have a good time doing it.
Right Now
Although Version Three was certainly well received there where a load of things which nagged me about the design and structure. This is where Version Four comes in. I rebuilt the site from the ground up. Starting with a clean install of WordPress I re-organised all my old posts into proper categories, created an extensive archive system which means posts can be found via tags, categories and date and then wrapped it all up in one of the best designs I feel I have ever created.
