A Couple of Things

Well, it’s been a while, again. Got a couple of things to write about, in no particular order. I am slowly getting closer and closer to cracking open Photoshop and starting the layout for V3. I’ve been looking at a lot of blogs and inspiration including 2 geek books I purchased the other day from Amazon. I got DHTML Utopia: Modern Web Design Using JavaScript & DOM and The ZEN of CSS Design: Visual Enlightenment for the Web both are really good books, The ZEN of CSS Design is a really great inspirational book. I highly recommend it. Also to coincide with V3 I subscribed to flickr everyone is using it these days, so I figure it must be good. I only had a look at it for about 15 mins, but the feature set does look pretty extensive. It also means I can blog images straight to WordPress which should come in handy.

I have noticed recently, especially with this page getting longer, that you can actually watch the PHP render, chasing it down to the bottom of the page. This is annoying and I can only assume that it is a problem with my server. I think I will need to sort something else out in the new year. Although its pretty much the designer label for geeks (mt) Media Temple (you have to write it like that, it’s the law!) is looking tempting. It must be a good service or no one would use it. It would mean some domain re-jigging. And I have payed for next years of hosting, so I would make a substantial loss. It would mean that I could install mint though. Mmmmmm mint.

Just going to wrap things up now. Matt Brett is a legend, awesome site, awesome guy. Check out the Lucky Number Seven page, you can see how I request artwork and how he puts it up for me! Maybe he was intending to do it I dunno. I just thinks its really sound of him to try and please his readers. So major props to Matt. Also the band is awesome so check them out!

Keep an eye out for some posts with images coming soon to a critical blog near you!
